December is the season employers can give back and show their appreciation to their employees. After all, without their employees, business operations would be incomplete and impossible. Indeed, employees are the backbone and middleman of a business to its clients.
There are many ways a business can give back to their employees. And since there are thousands of business types, we’ll focus on photo laboratory and photo printing businesses in this post. Here are some holiday perks you can give your employees if you own or operate a photo laboratory or printing business.
1 – Free photoshoot with printing for them.
Since the heart of your business is photography, it would be unusual not to give your employees complimentary photoshoots they can enjoy. Like any other person, your employees have family and friends they’d like to spend time with and enjoy a photoshoot. And since it’s the holiday season, giving them a complimentary shoot with printing would be an enjoyable activity they can do with their loved ones.
Of course, you can allot a specific time when they can claim this perk. It wouldn’t be ideal if your employees would claim this perk alongside your clients. For an efficient claim of the photoshoot perk, I recommend creating a schedule where employees can choose and discuss the best schedule that would work for them.
2 – Discount coupons for your services.
Another perk you can share with your employees this holiday is a discount coupon for your services. I wouldn’t recommend giving discount coupons if you’re selling photography-related products because that would be too complicated, especially if you’re working with a supplier.
Instead, I recommend giving them discount coupons to share with family and friends. That’s not only a great perk, but also a wise way to increase your sales and raise brand awareness this holiday.
3 – Christmas basket with a disposable camera.
Most companies give their employees a Christmas basket that contains food and goodies they can enjoy on the holiday. You can also do the same because you can never go wrong with a Christmas basket. But to add a twist, why don’t you include a disposable camera to add a touch of your business nature?
Giving a Christmas basket is practical and anyone who receives one will surely appreciate it. A Christmas basket is a great perk if you want to give something useful, essential, and practical this holiday.
4 – Unlimited printing at a specific amount.
If the heart of your business is photo printing, why don’t you offer your employees an unlimited printing perk at a specific amount? It’s like a consumable that they can use for your services. For example, you can give them a £100 unlimited printing perk. They can use it for any printing type and service you have as long as it totals to £100. If there’s an excess, they can shoulder it instead.
It’s a great perk, especially if your employees are also thinking of gifts to give their family and friends. It’s a great way to promote customised gifting ideas and spark creativity among your employees.
5 – Free coffee or snacks during the Christmas week.
Another perk you can give your employees is free coffee or snacks during the Christmas week. Giving them free coffee or snacks during the Christmas week could help make them feel the holiday spirit better. As we get older, we tend to feel the holiday spirit less.
If you’re constantly working and rarely get a break, doing simple gestures like treating your employees to a drink or snacks for at least a week before Christmas, will surely make a difference to their holidays.
6 – Christmas day off.
For many corporate employees, having a free day off work during Christmas is normal. However, many people working in retail, food and beverage, leisure, and hospitality businesses still work despite the holiday. Even photo printing and laboratory employees are no exception to this.
If you’re still operating on the holidays, why don’t you divide the team into choosing who is willing to work during Christmas and who is fine coming to work on New Year’s Day? That way, it will be fair to your team so they can spend Christmas with their loved ones and enjoy the holiday spirit, too.
Giving your employees perks this season would mean a lot and can make their holidays memorable.
No matter how simple or small the holiday perk you’re thinking of is, don’t hesitate to share it with your employees. After all, it’s the most generous and joyous time of the year. Christmas only happens once, so take this season to show appreciation to your employees.
