What Is Mydayis?
Mydayis, a prescription brand name medication, is available only by prescription. The medication treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which affects adults and children aged 13 years or older. ADHD is a mental health disorder that can lead to problems like difficulty paying attention and sitting still.
Mydayis is a member of a group of medications known as stimulants. A class of drugs is an assortment of similar medicines. Mydayis contains the active drug amphetamine in four different forms:
- dextroamphetamine sulfate
- dextroamphetamine saccharate
- amphetamine aspartate monohydrate
- amphetamine sulfate
These salts are also known as mixed amphetamine.
Mydayis is available in a capsule with an extended-release that you can take orally. Extended-release drugs slowly enter your bloodstream over time, ensuring the drug is in your system all day.
Mydayis is a controlled substance.
Mydayis is classified as a controlled drug. You can abuse Mydayis or become dependent upon it.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has regulations that regulate how certain medications are prescribed and dispensed in a pharmacy. It would be best if you got a new script for every refill. The rules also restrict which doctor type can write your prescription and how much medication can be stored at a particular time in the pharmacy.
Effectiveness
Mydayis eased ADHD symptoms in five studies when compared with a placebo.
People with ADHD received either Mydayis or a placebo in each study. Each study included adults and children aged 13 or older. To measure ADHD symptoms, everyone was evaluated with ADHD rating scales at the start of each survey and throughout. The ADHD symptoms of people taking Mydayis were significantly reduced compared to those who took placebos at the end of each study.

Mydayis comes only in brand name form. The generic version is not available at this time.
Mydayis contains four active drugs, amphetamines.

Mydayis dosage
Your doctor will prescribe a Mydayis dose based on several factors. The following factors are involved:
- The severity of the condition that you are using Mydayis for
- Your age
- Other medications that you may be taking
- Other medical conditions that you may have
Your doctor will usually start you off with a small dose. They will adjust the dosage over time until they find what works best for you. Your doctor will prescribe the lowest dose that produces the desired effects.
Following are dosages commonly prescribed or used. Take the dose prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the proper dosage for you.
The strength and types of drugs
Mydayis is available as a capsule with extended-release. Extended-release drugs slowly enter your bloodstream over time. Mydayis can be taken by swallowing the pill. You can also open the capsule, pour the medication on a spoonful of applesauce and eat it without chewing.
Mydayis contains four active drugs, including amphetamine.

These salts are also known as mixed amphetamine.
Mydayis has four strengths, each containing equal amounts of active amphetamine salts.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder dosage
You’ll need to take 12.5 mg of the medication daily for adults. Your doctor can increase your dosage by 12.5mg each week if necessary. Mydayis is available in a maximum dosage of 50 mg per day.
Pediatric dosage
Every day, children will take one 12.5 mg capsule. After at least one week, a doctor can increase the dose to 12.5 mg if necessary. Mydayis is available in a maximum dosage of 25 mg per day.
What happens if I forget to take a dose of the drug?
Mydayis is taken when you wake up each morning. Wait until you take your next dose if you missed a dose. Do not take the missed dosage later in the day or more than once at a given time. Mydayis should be taken reasonably as it may cause difficulty falling asleep.
You can set a reminder on your phone to help you remember. A medication timer can be used.
Do I have to take this drug for a long time?
Mydayis should be taken as a long-term treatment. You’ll probably take Mydayis long-term if you and your physician determine it is safe and effective.
Mydayis comes with a warning box for drug abuse and addiction. The FDA has issued the most severe warning. See “FDA Warning” at the start of this article for more information.
Alternatives for Mydayis
Other drugs treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You may find that some drugs are better for you than others. Speak to your doctor if you want to find an alternative for Mydayis. Your doctor can suggest other medicines that might work for you.
Note: Certain drugs listed below may be used to treat specific conditions off-label. When a drug approved for one state is used to treat another condition, it’s called off-label usage.

Uses
Mydayis XR and Adderall are two prescription drugs that fall into a class of medications called stimulants. A type of drug is an assortment of similar medicines. Stimulants increase the activity of your body systems, such as your brain, to make you more alert.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved Mydayis to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) among adults and children aged 13 and older.
Adderall XR is an extended-release medication that can treat ADHD among adults and children ages six.
The immediate-release version of Adderall can only be purchased as a generic. This generic form has been approved for treating ADHD in children and adults three years or older. This generic form is approved for treating narcolepsy among adults and children six years or older. Narcolepsy (a sleep disorder) is one type.
Adderall and Mydayis both contain four different forms of the active substance amphétamine.

Mix amphetamine is the name of this combination. Mydayis and Adderall are made in different ways to release the active drug over time. Also, they come in different dosages. Below is a list of the different doses.

Mydayis
Mydayis is available as a capsule with extended-release. Extended-release medications enter the bloodstream gradually over time. Mydayis has four strengths: 12,5, 25, 37,5 and 50 mg.
Mydayis can be taken by swallowing the capsule. You can also open the capsule, pour the medication on a spoonful of applesauce and eat it without chewing. You’ll need to take Mydayis every morning when you get up.
Adderall XR
Adderall XR comes in two different forms.
- An extended-release capsule is available in the following strengths: 10 mg. 15 mg. 20 mg. 25 mg. and 30 mg.
- An immediate-release tablet* is available in the following powers: 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, 15mg, 20mg, 30mg.
The form of Adderall XR you choose will determine the dose. You will typically take the extended-release capsule once daily when you wake up. You usually take your first dose of the immediate-release tablets when you awaken. You’ll then take the additional doses every four to six hours.
* Adderall’s immediate-release tablets are only available as generic.
Risks and side effects
Both Adderall XR and Mydayis contain stimulant drugs. Stimulants increase the activity of your body systems, including your mind, to alert you. Both medications can have very similar side effects. Here are some examples of side effects.
- Mydayis can cause several symptoms

- Adderall XR can cause this:
- Belly pain
- Fatigue(lack of energy)
- Emotional lability (rapid change of emotions)
- Urinary tract infection (UTI).
- Both Adderall XR and Mydayis can cause this side effect.
- dry mouth
- Feeling jittery and anxious
- Feeling restless
- Insomnia(not able to fall asleep)
- Reduced appetite or weight loss
- diarrhoea
- dizziness
- nausea
Serious side effects
The following lists include examples of severe side effects that may occur when Mydayis or Adderall XR (taken individually) is born.

- Both Adderall XR and Mydayis can cause this side effect.
- Heart and blood vessel problems include high blood pressure (high blood vessel pressure), rapid heartbeat (feeling like there are extra or skipped heartbeats), stroke, heart attack and heart palpitations.
- New or worsening psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder or depression.
- Risk of stunted development in children and adolescents
- Raynaud’s phenomenonis a condition with a lack of blood supply to the nose, ears or fingers.
- Convulsions or seizures
Effectiveness
Both Adderall and Mydayis XR have FDA approval to treat ADHD.
The two drugs are not directly comparable in clinical trials, but they are equally effective in treating ADHD in both adults and children.
Costs
Mydayis is a brand-name drug, as is Adderall. Mydayis doesn’t come in a generic version. There are generic versions of Adderall’s immediate-release and extended-release forms. Generics are usually cheaper than brand-name medications.
The price you pay depends on the type of insurance, where you live, and which pharmacy or drugstores you choose.
