Welcome to Ireland! You may be wondering if PRSA Ireland is right for you. Well, that’s a great question. It depends on what kind of work you do and how much time you have to invest in yourself and the association. Here are some tips for navigating the organization as a whole:
Become a Member
There are two types of PRSA membership: student and professional. If you’re new to the industry and looking for ways to network with other professionals, joining the national association is a good place to start.
Becoming a member is free–just go here and fill out an application form. The organization offers three levels of membership: Basic (free), Professional ($75 per year) and Premium ($150 per year). The higher the level, the more benefits that come with it; all members receive access to their online resources library as well as discounts on webinars hosted by PRSA Ireland’s partners.
You can also join one of our local chapters by contacting them directly via email at [email protected]
Event Registration
PrSA membership is required to register for events. Membership is free and open to all PR professionals, not just students or those who work in the field of public relations.
There are no restrictions on who can join as a member of PrSA Ireland: you don’t have to be a full-time employee or student; you don’t need any experience in the sector; you don’t even have to be Irish! The only requirement is that you are interested in learning more about public relations, whether that means simply keeping up with industry trends or working towards your professional certification (e.g., CIPR).
Networking Events
Networking is a skill you need to learn.
It’s not something that comes naturally, but it’s an important part of doing business. As you get more experience in PR, networking will become second nature–you’ll know how to network with peers and clients; vendors; people who are looking for jobs (and vice versa).
You can network at events like the one we’re hosting on January 30th at The Mansion House in Dublin City Centre (more details below), at work or online through social media platforms like LinkedIn or Twitter. You can also use these tools if you want to connect with someone specific whom you don’t know yet but would like to meet because they have similar interests as yourself!
Group Meetings and Workshops
PRSA Ireland offers a variety of workshops and meetings. Some are free, while others have a fee. Meetings are usually a few hours long, but workshops can be longer or shorter depending on the topic being discussed. Workshops may be led by experts in their fields who share their expertise with you, or they may be led by members of PRSA Ireland who are sharing their own knowledge with the rest of us!
Social Events
Social events are a great way to network and learn about new trends in PR. They’re also an excellent way to have fun, meet new people and get inspired by speakers who will give you fresh ideas for your own work.
There are plenty of social events throughout the year: from the annual conference to monthly lunches with industry leaders or drinks at The Long Hall pub in Temple Bar (a must-visit during any trip). The website has all the details on upcoming events so you can plan ahead!

PRSA Ireland is a great way to connect with peers, learn and improve your skills. You can develop your professional network through the association’s many events, or learn about PR and the industry at one of their seminars or conferences.
The Dublin branch organises many social events throughout the year including drinks receptions where members can network with each other while enjoying food and drink provided by sponsors of these events. In addition, we have organised field trips such as tours of RTE Studios in Donnybrook (for those who work in TV news), visits to Google’s offices in Dublin 1 for those working in digital PR/social media roles (or just interested) as well as an annual summer BBQ where all members are welcome!
Conclusion
PRSA Ireland is a great way to connect with peers, learn and improve your skills. The network is also an excellent resource if you’re looking for advice on how to navigate the Irish PR industry or just want some new contacts in Dublin. If you’re thinking about joining, don’t hesitate!
