Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Companies are granted a special identification number called Udyog Aadhar (MSMEs). The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses is responsible for issuing it. The Udyog Aadhar has since been changed to Udyam, nevertheless. The Udyam Registration Portal requires new MSMEs to register right away in order to receive an Udyam Certificate.

All currently operating businesses that are registered under Udyog Aadhar must re-register on the Udyam Registration website. The Udyog Aadhar-registered businesses that were active as of 30 June 2022 will remain so through 31 March 2023. Udyog Aadhar: What is it?
After MSMEs register with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses, they are given a twelve-digit Unique Identification Number called an Udyog Aadhar.
The Indian government has switched Udaym for Udyog Aadhar at this time. The Udyam Registration platform allows any business that satisfies the MSME definition to receive Udaym Registration for their company.
The Udyog Aadhar Certificate: What Is It?
MSMEs that have registered with the MSME Ministry are given Udyog Aadhar Certificates. The company’s Udyog Aadhar Number can be found on the Udyog Aadhar Certificate.
Businesses with Udyog Aadhar Certificates must now re-register on the Udyam Registration Portal in order to get the Udyam Registration Certificate. The Udyam Registration Certificate provides the distinct registration number of the business and is eligible to enjoy the government of India benefits offered to MSMEs.
What is the registration fee for Udyog Aadhar?
Businesses that already have Udyog Aadhar Registration must re-register for Udaym Registration. It costs nothing to switch from Udyog Aadhar Registration to Udyam Registration.
MSMEs can register entirely online through the Udaym Registration Portal. There is no charge for any registrations made using this portal. It is completely free.
Procedure of Registering for Udyog Aadhar
New MSMEs and businesses with Udyog Aadhar can register for Udyam on the official website. For obtaining an Udyam Registration Certificate, there are two choices available on the Udyam Registration Portal. As follows:
- New business owners who haven’t applied for MSME registration
- For those who have registered as UAM or EM-II, as well as those who have done so through assisted filing,
The following is the registration process:
- The registration form for new MSMEs must be filled out online by selecting the “For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered as MSME” button on the portal’s home page.
- Entrepreneurs have the option of registering their businesses with or without a PAN. They must fill out the form and supply all necessary information, including their PAN card number for verification as well as their personal and business information.
- A successful registration notification for the MSME and a reference number will be displayed when the form has been submitted. The MSMEs receive the Udyam Registration Certificate within a few days of the registration being verified.
- The button labelled “For those having registration as EM-II or UAM” or “For those having registration as EM-II or UAM through Assisted filing” must be clicked by MSMEs who have Udyog Aadhar Registration.
- Their registration under the updated MSME Registration will be complete once they have filled all the registration information.
